Autonomous drone inspection provider Percepto has launched Axion, a software-as-a-service physical AI platform designed to help operators analyze inspection data across mission-critical infrastructure. The company says the platform can work with third-party drones and sensor networks, allowing users to identify potential equipment failures before they escalate.

Axion is intended for sectors including upstream oil and gas, power transmission and distribution, and downstream processing facilities. It organizes information by asset and applies more than 160 AI models to interpret equipment conditions in context, according to Percepto.

The platform can ingest data from supported third-party drone systems, fixed and mobile sensors, and existing inspection archives. This hardware-agnostic approach is designed to let operators use their current inspection investments without being tied to a single equipment provider.

Percepto said Axion can identify issues such as a downed wire by examining its relationship with surrounding components. It can also assess thermal anomalies against expected asset behavior and environmental conditions. The company added that findings are supported by inspection history and expert validation.

Users can query the inspection data using plain-language questions. Percepto said its large language model helps operators locate relevant answers and uncover signals within their existing inspection records.

The launch marks a shift in Percepto’s strategy from a hardware-focused autonomous drone maker toward a software-first physical AI provider. Julien Bellanger has taken over as CEO from Dor Abuhasira, alongside new leadership for revenue and marketing. Bellanger said the company plans to extend the operational intelligence developed through its autonomous inspection systems beyond Percepto’s own drone fleet.

Percepto will continue selling, deploying and supporting its existing drones and drone docks. The company also said manufacturing will be located in the U.S. to support the American Drone Dominance Initiatives.

Founded in 2014, Percepto is based in Modi’in, Israel, and has U.S. headquarters in Austin, Texas.
